Some Weeks…

Happy Friday you guys! I have to admit, I really thought about not posting a blog this week. But I’m REALLY trying to stay consistent here- so here it is you all. My blog post.

This week I was able to head up to my home town on the Central Coast of California and spend some quality time with my sister. I’ve been working from my laptop during the day, then hanging out with my sis and working on her wedding stuff through the evening. (My sister is engaged!)

I forget how gross the air is in LA until I step out of my car after the three hour drive up here. It smells so good. And you can see the stars at night. They’re so pretty.

I oftentimes take my job for granted, sometimes when it gets hard I ┬ájust wish for something that didn’t take me over so much. But then there’s weeks like this, where I can sit in a coffee shop all day, have a view of the ocean, and hang out with my sister. All while continuing to work. It’s an amazing thing that makes me so thankful for technology and the internet.

Anyways, I’ve had my share of stresses these past few weeks, and some days they can really get to me. But slowing down, breathing and remembering what I have is my motto this year. And I have so much to be thankful for. Like this little walk I took this morning. On this beach. Where I grew up. So much goodness.

Have a great weekend friends, enjoy it!!

  1. You are such a hard worker, Jo. I remember at Designer Vaca all of us went down for a drink at the bar and you graciously stayed back to finish a file for one of your clients. Your work ethic is inspiring! Glad you are able to balance both work + life this week and hang out with your sis! Miss you. xo

  2. I can completely relate to the feeling of wishing your job didn’t overtake you. I’ve learned to balance it for the most part; some weeks frankly I just can’t get it together and I just don’t do much and then others I’m so inspired there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day to get all my ideas onto paper.

But even with the ups and downs I wouldn’t trade what I do for anything in the world. :)
